2019 Oscars to be a no host ceremony

2019 Oscars ceremony will be held with no host; last year winners will present awards.

2019 Oscars ceremony will be held with no host; last year winners including Gary Oldman will present awards.

With Kevin Hart, an African American comedian, calling off hosting the event, this year edition of Oscars will take place with no hosts to open the ceremony.

This is the first time after a period of thirty years that the ceremony will be held with no host. The last time this happened, it was in 1989, the result of such planning was an embarrassment as some Hollywood figures put it.

Traditionally, awards were presented by the previous edition’s award-winning actors. This year too, the tradition will be observed as Allison Janny, Frances McDormand, Gary Oldman and Sam Rockwell will be award presenters.

Last year, the Best Actress in a Supporting Role award went to Allison Janny for her appearance in ‘I, Tonya’. Frances McDormand was the recipient of Best Actress in a Leading role for her role in ‘Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri’. Gary Oldman won Best actor for ‘Darkest Hour’. Best Actor in a Supporting Role award was given to Sam Rockwell for his role in ‘Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri’.

Award ceremony of one of the most unpredictable Oscars in the history will be held on February 24, 2019.
